Becketts Renovated Old Massie Hotel But Later Demolished

Charles Baxter Photos

The old Massie Hotel served as the Beckett home for many years. Roy Beckett owned and operated the Gulf Service Station nearby and Bob Beckett sold appliances from what used to be the Massie Store attached to the former hotel. These photographs show the renovation of the home and demolition of the store, followed by demolition of home itself. Demolitions of the Massie Store and subsequently the Gulf station are illustrated in other slide shows in this section.

In the foreground is rubble from the Massie Store. The old Massie Hotel, which we knew as the Beckett home, is next to be torn down.
