Concord Training School

Built on the site of the former Concord Normal School's third building, this two-story brick building had eight classrooms and a basement.

The Concord Training School provided an opportunity for the senior college students who majored in Education to practice their future role as teachers. During our years they were called "student teachers" or "practicing teachers."

Teacher Education

Student Education majors from the college gained a knowledge of teaching and practiced in public schools.

Concord Training School students who entered the first grade in 1953 became the Athens High School senior class of 1965.
