Second Water Tower

Various Source Photos

The first Athens water tower was built at the end of Cooper Street, just north and west of Sarvey Hall on the Concord Campus. It was removed before the new women's domitory, named after Demaris Wilson who was the Dean of Women at Concord during Our Years, was built on the site. The cover photograph shows the second tower, built north of what was then the Campus Lodge, owned and operated by Garland Elmore, Sr.

Included in the gallery are photographs of the second water tower being disassembled. It's replacement, the third tower, is located beside Athens School (then Athens High School).
