Darrell Cook, Class of 1964, and his wife Debby attended the reunion after traveling from Miamisburg Ohio. Darrell surprised the class at a picnic the day before with teeshirts for eveyone bearing the inscription, Athens High School, 1964-2014.

Notes from 2014: Shelby, class of 1964, and Patricia, class of 1962, were married in March 1964. After Shelby’s graduation they moved to Danville Virginia where Shelby began his career of 32 years as a tool and die maker for Miller Brewing Company. Shelby and Patricia have three sons, David, Daryl, and Derek. In retirement they enjoy Smith Mountain Lake, where Shelby fishes and hunts.
The 50th year reunion was held at Pipestem State Park with a picnic at the home of Ruby Neely Nelson.

Notes from 2014: Jim, class of 1964, graduated from Concord in 1968 and worked in Washington DC for a little over a year. In 1969 he moved to Charleston area where he worked in various areas of the insurance and securities business until about 5 years ago when he semi-retired. In 2009 he started working with a local law firm as a clerk. Since his wife is a legal secretary with the firm Jim and Becky are together quite a bit.
Becky is a Charleston native. Jim and Becky were married in 1974. They have 2 children, Brian and Sarah. Brian has 2 girls, Katelyn and Holly, while Sarah has a son Gannon and daughter Maddie. Ages of the grandkids range from 3-7. Jim and Becky are very fortunate to have their kids and grandkids nearby where they can get together quite often. Becky’s widowed mom lives with them.
Jim enjoys sports and playing golf.
